This kind of question is ultimately futile since everyone's going to have a different opinion.

You might as well look here and decide which one appeals most to you:

Personally, I like tantan-men (’S’S–Ë) best; ƒ`ƒƒ[ƒVƒ…[“ü‚è‚Ì’†h‚‚¾‚³‚¢I

"wiki(EN)" just listed No Ramen lover.

Soup type share like this

1st gragh by generations 2nd by area.
Syoyu and Miso over 50% but young men love Tonkotsu(more oily).
Women not Tonkotsu and spicy love Tsuke-men(healthy) type at fashionable interior Ramen shop with table seats most.

So You should try to eat instant cup type(around 100Y) some kinds
then go Ramen shop(around 700Y).

If you're in Tokyo take a train down to the Raumen Museum in Shin Yokohama. They have several restaurants from different areas of Japan, and you can purchase a smaller serving if you want to try more than one.

Since Ramen is relatively cheap you should try different kinds and discover your taste. I would recommed you try the local specialty, where ever you are. For example in Sapporo City the specialty is Miso Ramen. In Asahikawa it is Shoyu Ramen. In Kyushu it is Tonkotsu Ramen. Increasingly there are novel Ramen flavours like Curry-Butter-Milk Ramen in Hokkaido and Aomori. My personal favourite is Miso Chashu from Keyaki Ramen in Sapporo and the Saikyo Nokou Tonkotsu Ramen from the Bari-Uma Ramen franchise found all over central and western Honshu.

My favorite is the tonkotsu ramen as made by Ichiran. I also like the thick kotteri ramen from Tenkaippin though it is too rich to eat very often.

Have you tried Jiro yet?

What is your favorite food and/or food you are unable to eat? Any particular food allergies you have?

Ramen main ingredients include fish, pork, chicken, soy bean, wheat, egg, animal fat etc.

I really am fine whether it's Tonkotsu, miso, shouyu or shio. However I strongly prefer the thinner noodles. Kyushu ramen is my favourite, possibly followed by Tokyo ramen. Though Hokkaido ramen is also famous, to date I have not had one I really liked.

The Ramen Museum website does not mention cost or operation hours. Is there a general admission fee? What is the usual cost of a small or large ramen? What are hours of operation?
