Is there any generic/placeholder names in Japanese?

(ie: the equivalent of John Doe, Jane Doe, John Smith, etc)

Yamada Taro (山田太郎) is a common placeholder name for men and Yamada Hanako (山田花子) for women.

And the next mark (runner-up?) is Suzuki Ichiro (鈴木一郎).

In actuality, Taro, Ichro and Hanako are often used as examples on the official documents like this.

Also, in Kuroneko Yamato's example shipping labels, Taro and Hanako's last name is... Yamato.
