Where to buy letter sets in Tokyo 2014/7/1 17:07
Hi everyone,

I'm travelling to Tokyo soon in mid July and plan to stock up my letter sets for snail-mailing purpose; apart from sightseeing. I wonder if anyone know where is the best place to buy affordable letter sets?

I have never been to japan before so I'm pretty much blind direction. I will be staying around Roponggi area so if there's any store near there, I would love to know.

Thanks in advance for helping me :)

There are no large stationary shops in Roppongi.
I often buy at Loft Shibuya B1F, Tokyu Hands Shibuya 2-B floor and Sekaido Shinjuku Head store.
If you are frequent in Japanese or someone helps you, I recommend you to buy at Yodobashi.com. They have wide range of letter sets and cheap with free shipping(order in the morning, arrive by evening). This service is available by online or you can order and pick up at stores. Some letter sets are available at Yodobashi-Camera Shinjuku, Ueno and Akihabara stores.

The large stationery shops Ito-ya have every imaginable stationery item you could ever want..
There are 2 in the Ginza, and quite a few elsewhere including Shibuya.
Check their website www.ito-ya.co.jp. Think they also have an online store.

Thanks @tokyo friend 48, the website your provided is what I'm looking for :) Can I visit their store directly to buy instead of ordering online and pick-up from their store?

@LoveJapan I've checked Ito-ya website before and seems like they sell more like Muji office stationeries. Have you been there often? Do they have letter sets for snail-mailing because I can't find it in their website :(

Thanks to both of you :) I now know where to look for the stuffs.

I've never bought a letter set at Yodobashi Camera physical stores, I always buy Yodobashi online store(cheap & fast).
You could visit Yodobashi Camera stores(not online store), but, the stock range may limited or out of stock.

Yodobashi-Camera Shinjuku West Head Store: Multimedia BLDG, 2F East side, stationary section.

Yodobashi-Camera Multimedia Ueno; 3F PC section(include stationary)

Yodobashi-Camera Multimedia Akiba in Akihabara; 2F stationary section

Also, Ito-ya in Tokyo Midtown Roppongi may have limited letter sets. I've never bought a letter set at Ito-ya(I bought some birthday cards).

Paper Mint in Roppongi Hills may have limited letter sets.

I like the inexpensive, kawaii type of letter sets that can be found at Daiso (105 yen) stores and shops like this http://www.tsunagujapan.com/c/view/en/1575
