Learn how to make Japanese desserts? 2014/7/8 02:56
I'm planning to visit Tokyo in January and I would love to learn how to make mochi and other Japanese confections. Any help on how and where I would be able to do this would be greatly appreciated!!

I don't know about mochi, but this place (in Kyoto) lets you experience making Japanese sweets in a 2-hour course:

The English page seems outdated, but the Japanese site is continuing, so I am sure they are still available.

Step 3: rounding

Mochi completed the hand with potato starch will crumpled to the size you like. easy to off and hold the mochi mochi are torn, making the circle with your thumb and index finger, squeaking pie to shrink.

Mochi ball will go laid thin potato starch dish.

* All day dry intact if a challenge round, please cut with the kitchen knife.

Step 4: how to eat mochi ball

Let it dry a bit and put the rice cake soup baked in the toaster oven.

Soy mochi wrapped with dried seaweed and intersect it with the mochi mochi flour are other pollutants in hot water quickly, dusted with flour and sugar and mix with soy sauce. Such things can be. Give it a try.

This youtube channel has really good recipes for Japanese food, desserts, snacks, etc. It's easy to follow too.

I recommend the videos on making annin tofu, dango, mochi, and daifuku.
