Arita vs. Kappabashi 2014/9/16 13:00
We are planning a day trip from Fukuoka to Arita to buy some dishes - does anyone know which shops offer affordable deals? We will be arriving by train - are the shops within walking distance? also are the prices comparable with the discount shops in Kappabashi or much more expensive?

Arita is one of famous pottery town in Japan.

Kappabashi in Tokyo for professional user kitchen and food shop item mainly
not pottery town.

Also Sennichimae-dougusuji famous in Osaka maybe good.

But in Fukuoka(Hakata) a lot of dishes sales cheaper to expensive one.
Ask hotel or toutist info counter at FUK or JR Hakata sta.

Arita pottery is expensive. For daily use, buy at a discount shop away from Arita or other famous pottery towns.
