I do not know that era. However, before that can be Seto o-hashi Bridge(1988), Okayama - Takamatsu about 110 minutes ,Okayama - Sakaide seems to have been about 140 minutes by Ship .

I do not know the time of the train. Maybe, but I think understand if railway mania. such tsubame and fuji and sakura is, Tokyo - Shimonoseki was running . tsubame was Tokyo - Osaka running at 8 hours and 20 minutes. (Scheduled speed 66.8 km / h) Train until it seems to have been taking for 11 hours. (Scheduled speed 51.7 km / h)
