Where to buy a handmade knife 2014/12/12 03:55
Hi! I would like to go to a real blacksmith who makes knifes the traditional way and I would love to buy one too, just a all purpose kitchen knife since I like to cook a lot. I know they are expensive but this will be my souvenir from Japan. We will be traveling mostly in Kyushu, Shikoku and western Honshu (mostly west of Tokyo and including Tokyo). Any tips where to buy and what I have to watch (and maybe how much I should be expecting to pay)?
Thanks a lot!

I think you can purchase at major department stores in Kyushu and Shikoku. The average household black smith knives are 15,000 Yen, over 30,000 Yen for professional use.
