Bowel function medicine in Japan 2015/1/5 08:48
I'm looking for a medicine containing loperamide, which I can get everywhere over the counter. Pharmacies keep telling me I need to get it from doctor or hospital. What can I do? This is for correct bowel function. Something like Miropin or Mebucolon. Thanks.

Loperamide seems to be 塩酸ロペラミド in Japanese which is available in some OTC antidiarrheal medicines. Here's a few that contain loperamide, however I'm not sure if they are combined with other medications:

Are you a member of Costco?

They sell it off the shelf under their Homebrand, Kirkland, with the active ingredient
Loperamide Hydracloride 2mg, otherwise you should call the Dispensary attached to the Tokyo Medical and Surgical Clinic, near Tokyo Tower as they are English speaking and can dispense pharmaceuticals from overseas. phone 03 3434 5817
