'Yo ni suru/naru' and time stamp usage 2015/2/19 12:32
Hi guys, just wondering how would it be if I wanted to say 'I'm trying to sleep at 9 everyday'

Would it be "Gogo kyu ji ni mainichi neru o suru yo ni shite imasu"?

(Is my positioning of the time stamp correct and the usage of neru o suru correct in the first place?)

Thanks for the help!

And happy Lunar New Year ppl!!

Q‚é‚ð‚·‚é is ungrammatical. A direct object must be a nominal phrase.

For saying "I'm trying to sleep at 9 every night," you can say:
- Maiban ku-ji ni neru you ni shite imasu.

If you want to say "I'm trying sleep BY 9 every night,"
- Maiban ku-ji ni wa neru you ni shite imasu.

Oh, I see. Then may i ask what is the difference and when do we use "Neru" and "Nete iru"? It's kinda confusing.

Thanks once again!

"neru" is to go to bed/to sleep.
"nete iru" is you have gone to bed/sleep, so you are asleep :)
