Cake shops in Tokyo? Recommendations? 2015/3/9 14:18
Hi :)

So me and my family are moving to Japan this summer, and we will be there right before my birthday! ^^

Because our baking supplies won't be there yet, we decided to buy a cake. Do you guys have any cake shop recommendations in Tokyo?

We are thinking of visiting the Ghibli museum (we've been there before, but in the winter) on my birthday, but because it is in the summer, we're a bit concerned about the heat! Do you guys think this is a good idea?

Thank you! ^^

I recommend heading to any big department store and browsing through the food area. You'll see a huge array of mouthwatering desserts, and can buy a bunch of different ones to enjoy! Or if you want a bakery, my personal go-to place for cakes is Chateraise (http://www.chateraise.co.jp/shop/list.php?pref_id=13)

Note that many bakeries, Chateraise included, require advance notice for whole cakes. But you can buy slices enough for the family no problem!

If you go to the Ghibli Museum, Kichijoji is close.
Kichijoji station building Atre, the cake shop is on many.

To even in Kichijoji other there is a lot of fashionable shops.
You might want to also eat the cake in the cafe.

Thanks for the recommendations and the tips! The cakes look so adorable! :)

Yes lots of water and lots of rest! We will probably go to the museum right as it opens before the weather gets really hot! ^^
