Tokyo dinner with a view 2015/3/15 07:40
Any recommendations for restaurants with city views for family dining? Not looking for expensive fine dining, but more affordable options with 2 teenage boys!

I've read the Japan Guide Restaurant page and Tokyo Food Guide page which are helpful in a general way.

Any specific recommendations would be welcome.

I quite like Washoku En in Shiodome: http://bento.com/rev/2516.html

It's quite affordable, especially if some of your party don't drink alcohol....

You can try Skytree, not too sure about the cost.

Not in the price range you're looking for, but thought I'd throw this in here as reference (for other people looking for similar info).

Thank you all for your helpful answers! I only found them today - I had been looking under the Travel questions and thought mine wasn't there.

In between your original posting and now, I had a great dinner at Washoku En in Shiodome - it's probably my favorite place in the whole Shiodome complex, view or no.

There are also some nice affordable restaurants in the Nishi-Shinjuku skyscrapers; I like Sangendou in particular: http://www.bento.com/rev/2247.html

The places in the Skytree complex on the 30th floor tend to be a bit overpriced in my opinion, since they have a "captive audience" of tourists. By contrast, the skyscraper dining floors in Nishi-Shinjuku have been around for 25 years, so they've lost their novelty value and now have to compete on the basis of providing good value for money.
