Need Help Identifying Vase

I have a vase that I'd love to know more about. It is about 6 inches in height and is unique with carved areas and raised oriental characters/writing on the vase itself. There is a funny kind of figure 8 on the bottom that might be a signature but not sure. I'd just love to know some history on it if anyone knows. It is so beautiful and I've never seen anything like it. I have photos if needed
