I have done tons of research online over the months but I haven't got anywhere. It has all ben rather frustrating when it comes to volunteering here so I am hoping somebody might point me in the right direction :) Does anybody know of any orphanages here that need volunteers ??

May I ask why it is that you specifically seek orphanages as locations for your volunteer activities? As far as I know, orphanage staff members tend to be Japanese civil servants - it might be difficult to get into this somewhat conservative environment. I assume you speak/read the language; if you are a resident in Tokyo, you might want to register with places like Tokyo Voluntary Action Center to see what they might have? http://www.tvac.or.jp/
