Volunteering at an orphanage - Tokyo

I have done tons of research online over the months but I haven't got anywhere. It has all ben rather frustrating when it comes to volunteering here so I am hoping somebody might point me in the right direction :) Does anybody know of any orphanages here that need volunteers ??

May I ask why it is that you specifically seek orphanages as locations for your volunteer activities?

As far as I know, orphanage staff members tend to be Japanese civil servants - it might be difficult to get into this somewhat conservative environment.

I assume you speak/read the language; if you are a resident in Tokyo, you might want to register with places like Tokyo Voluntary Action Center to see what they might have?

I started typing the Japanese word 孤児院 (orphanage) on Google and my computer automatically gave me 孤児院　ボランティア (orphanage volunteer), so I clicked my ENTER key and this was on top of the Google list.

And then I typed other Japanese keywords like 孤児院　ボランティア　東京 (orphanage volunteer Tokyo) and it gave me more and more options, including one that suggested you visit a volunteer center.
