How to go to Wagu and meet the fishing women

I am a marine biologist, female, and love the ocean, admire fishermen, and love to be submerged under the sea. I saw a short program about these diving ladies. I would like ti meet them

Sorry I do not know "Wagu" but if you wish to meet fishing women who dive to catch shellfish and others for research purpose or interviews, I think the best thing is to contact the local 漁業組合 (gyogyō kumiai/fishermen's union) directly or through municipal government.
Wajima in Ishikawa-ken and Toba in Mie-ken are famous for 海女 (ama - those fishing women), for example.

Maybe the biggest issue is the language barrier - if you are not fluent in Japanese language, I recommend you to hire an interpreter.

Wagu may be the name of a certain district in Shima-town, Mie Pref.
