Where can I buy sarubobo dolls?

Is there any other place than Takayama where I can buy sarubobo doll? My friend bought one last year when he was visiting Japan, but he lost it and asked me for a favor. I'm going to Japan next week, unfortunately, I won't go anywhere near Takayama etc. I've already checked some websites but found nothing. Thanks in advance!

There are a lot of "antenna shops" in Tokyo, shops that sell goods from different prefectures around Japan. Unfortunately... out of 47 prefectures, only two don't have shops in Tokyo: Gifu, and Aichi. (If you or anyone else is interested in others, you can check this page: http://www.enjoytokyo.jp/feature/antenashop/list/) I've never seen these sold in Tokyo since they're a regional item. Your best bet might be to buy online and have it shipped to your hotel. Amazon.co.jp has a number selling at the moment, as does yahoo auctions. You'll probably have better luck with amazon.co.jp, but might try yahoo auctions using a buying service.

Amazon Japan sells them via the Gifu Tourism Shop, or something like that. If you buy a couple you should be able to get by without having paying shipping. Just have them sent to one of your hotels.
