Colleges and Beauty Salons

I will be moving to Yokosuka in July. My husband is in the navy. We will be stationed in Yokosuka. Are the any colleges in Yokohama which have any medical programs. How far is Yokosuka to Yokohama? Are there any beauty salons in Yokosuka or Yokohama that specialize in African-American Hair.

There should a few beauty salons on the base which do african american hair.
I saw someone doing it at Yokota base at least.
Yokohama is about 30-40min away from Yokosuka.

Gabrielle, my situation is similar to yours as I will be moving to Yokosuka in the next few months.I have also been looking up schools and had no clue what to do as far as a hair salon. Please try and let me know what you find out about schools out there or hair salons it would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

The only black hair salon I know about in Japan is Room 806 (http://www.room806.com/) in Tokyo.

Also, it may be helpful to stockpile products and make friends who can follow instructions in the perm box or find someone who knows how to braid within the base.

The University of Maryland usually has programs of some sort on Naval Bases. That may be a place to start looking.
