Japan elevator voice / announcement 2016/8/28 07:24
Hello,
I am trying to find audio clips from the "announcements" made in elevators when riding in Japan, like the floor number etc.

What is the correct word to call these "announcents"?

Which one?

Mostly For/To upper/lower floor when opening
"Ue/Shita he(or ni) mairi-masu." usual.
上[うえ]/下[した]へ(or に) 参[まい]ります。

参る(まいる/mai-ru) is old style "go".

"old style" isn't the right term. It's a verb used instead of iku and kuru when you're in a situation requiring humble language (i.e. super polite language).

参る is "come".

Japanese pod 101 has a whole series that covers the kind of language used in public announcements. 25 lessons I think, it's rather good. Upper Beginner series maybe? It's been a while.
