Kukujushima and Huis Ten Bosch in one day

We have already booked our flights to Kyushu and return in late Jan 2107 till Feb 2107. In one leg of our journey, starting from Nagasaki in the morning, we intend to go to Sasebo Kukujushima and then to Huis Ten Bosch in the afternoon till the night. Is it possible to do this in one day by train? Will be buying JR Kyushu Rail Pass for the trip to cover trains across from Hakata to Kagoshima, to Beppu and Nagasaki. Have checked the timetables in Hyperdia.com and it looks like trains to Huis Ten Bosch stop early, before 6 pm, so staying there is a must. Thank you for your assistance.
