Difference between tara, to and eba

Hi guys,

I am not exactly understanding the difference between these 3 "if" forms. So:

日本に行ったら、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
日本に行くと、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
日本に行けば、スッポンなべを食べたいです。

The textbook does somewhat explain that the resulting clause after the last form can't be a wish or request. You'd have to use the first form instead. Basically:
- 1st: If or when you go
- 2nd: Whenever you go
- 3rd: If and only if you go

Anyone can explain this better? Please elaborate.

日本に行ったら、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
(I am planning to go to Japan, and mostprobably I will go to Japan). When I go to Japan, I want to eat Suppon pot.

日本に行くと、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
This is not a fluent Japanese. I would say:
日本に行くとしたら､スッポンなべを食べたいです。
(Currently I am not planning to go to Japan. If I will go to Japan in the future, I want to eat Suppon pot.

日本に行けば、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
This is also non-fluent Japanese. Maybe the situation is neutral.
日本に行くなら､スッポンなべを食べたいです。
(I may or may not go to Japan in the near future).When I go to Japan, I want to eat Suppon pot. The point is, for me Suppon pot is a must in Japan.

Well I am a Japanese but I am not so confident with these sentences. Someone please correct me.

2nd and 3rd sentence is incorrect Japanese and unclear.
You can use only 1st sentence. The meaning is

日本に行ったら、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
(If I go to Japan, I'd like to eat soft shell turtle pot.)

Hm... Perhaps it would make more sense if I just write Tabemasu instead of Tabetaidesu?

Instead of making up artificial examples, read some books or something, you will quickly find examples of all three constructs.

"tabemasu/食べます" means "will eat" as exact plan/schedule.
But sometimes big wish/hope included as "食べる-つもり/-予定(よてい)" usual.
BC suppon/すっぽん(turtle) pot is not so cheap
and finding restaurant not so easy booking before better.

すっぽん is one of rare food in Japan. (not super/ultra rare)

日本に行けば、 it is a hypothesis.
日本に行くと、it simply shows the story direction. A and "then" B. (日本に行くと is A.)

日本に行ったら、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
If I went to Japan, I'd like to eat ...
日本に行くと、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
When I go to Japan, I want to eat ...
日本に行けば、スッポンなべを食べたいです。
If I go to Japan, I want to eat ...
