Hello,
Is there an housing tax if you rent an appartment?
I plan to stay in Japan for 1 year and work there with the working holiday visa, and i was wondering if on the end of the year i will have to pay in addition of the location price, taxes for living in an appartment/manshion or guest house.
Thanks for you help !

No Houseing Tax, what you will need to pay must be as below,; -Shohizei = VAT -Kokuho = health insurance tax, which you pay to the municipality you registed. -Kokumin-nenkin = the pention, which you pay to the municipality you registed but refundable at the end of WH. -Shotokuzei = income tax, which is deducted from your wage, and could be refunded depending on your total income in the year. http://ishijls.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-343.html
