Food items to Japan

Hi there Some questions on bringing food items into Japan.
To prevent seasickness and other stuff I always carry a pack of minced dried ginger (used as spice for cooking) as well as a pack of whole white pepper, both small packs.
Should this be noted in the customs form when arriving in Japan? Could I expect any issues with bringing this?

Where are you from? It depends the area the plant is from.

If they are packaged and labelled, they should be no problem. If you have any concerns, email Japan Customs, and include the pictures as well as how long you intend to stay in Japan as well as the amount of each you wish to take. tyo-gyomu-sodankan@customs.go.jp http://www.customs.go.jp/question_e.htm

Well the pepper package is sealed and unopened, the ginger however is opended but in original package, maybe too suspicious?
Fun fact though is the same ginger was bought in Japan a few years ago but only been stored since.
I was hoping to save some time in not needing to buy these stuff at arrival though.
