I understand that Bodaiji temple is closed from October to May. However, due to my schedule I would like to visit Mt.Osore on end of April around 28th of April and I will be driving. Therefore, my questions is, can i still see the beauty of mount osore without even going to the temple, for example just by driving around the bay or lake area ard bodaiji temple? I am sure thre is another interesting places there beside bodaiji temple right? and if i am driving, is the road still accessible at 28th of april? Thank you before for your attention and help

You have to go inside otherwise it is not worth it. If you like onsen, there is Yagen valley not far away, with many 'wild' onsens.
