A google search of less keystrokes than you question tells me the increase is currently set for 2019.

You mean the Japan government has confirmed to postpone the increase of consumption tax (from 8% to 10%) in Japan to 2019-October? Initially, it is scheduled to increase in 2017-October but has been postponed to 2017-April. No idea if postponed further.

Hi Japanese friend,
I have tried to search but can't find. Perhaps if i have overlooked. Sorry if it's bothering.
I tried to search in web., it mentioned the consumption tax had been set to increase to 10%, up from 8%, effective April 2017. However, the prime minister decided to postpone the planned increase in the consumption tax rate to 2019-October given certain concerns about the economy.
I just want to double confirm if it's true for the postponement.
