While, I read through some of the old posts here, would anyone here happen to know other online resources where I can read about stories, comments and reactions about taking Postgraduate Studies in Japan? Also would any of you point me in the right direction on where to possibly start looking for scholarships?
I am still on the planning stage but I am considering a Master's Degree in Engineering. While, I still have to finalize this, my main reasons for wanting to take postgraduate studies in Japan would be because, I'll be fully immersed in both Japanese Language and Culture. This is also my attempt of trying to be independent and broaden my perspectives about overseas life. I also plan to bring back the knowledge I gained back to my country. I know I shouldn't make hasty decisions but I this is what I am considering right now.
So if you have any comments, suggestions, reactions and advice for me, it would be very appreciated.

Hi, You can go on the Japan Society for Promotion of Science website ( http://www.jsps.go.jp/english/) which is related to the MEXT KAKENHI in the previous post. You will find application for Doctoral Course and Postdoctoral course. For this kind of programm, you first need to be in contact with a Japanese host professor who will apply with you. You can apply through the Japanese host researcher university or, if your country has a JSPS office (here is the list: http://www.jsps.go.jp/english/about_us/overseas_office.html), you can apply through that office. Then if you want to go as a master student, there are also possibilities. First, check with your university. Sometimes they have partnership with Japanese universities and can help you to find financial help. You can also participate to summer internship programs. Many Japanese universities are proposing such kind of programs and in various research or engineering areas. You can find them easily by google search. Usually you apply 6 months before and if you're accepted they generally help you to pay the travel fee and give you money and insurance for living. Here is an example: http://www.ilo.k.u-tokyo.ac.jp/summer_enI hope it helps you! Good luck!
