Leaving Japan Procedures 2017/3/27 03:49
Hi everyone,

I left Japan September last year, and found a new job back in the UK.

I was just wondering if I should have told immigration I was leaving for good and if there will be any repercussions if I haven't. I left with a special re-entry permit just in case so I guess my visa status will still last until September this year. I have signed out at the ward office and paid all my bills so think everything is pretty much settled.

Many thanks,

Not really, technically you should have notified the Japanese consulate or embassy that you are not returning. However, it doesn't have any repercussions at this stage.
