Hi. My Mother who is now a citizen in Japan and living there for almost 18 years, wants to take me there. Not as a tourist, but as a permanent resident. We already knew that my Mother needs to apply for Eligibility. This August, I will have my passport. And my Mother will send me the Eligibility and other important files. I am turning 20 this coming December. Is their really "age requirement"? some told us that when I reach 20, i won't be able to go there. And is there any possibility for me to fail on having my permanent visa? Pls help me. Thanks!

If your mother was not a Japanese citizen at the time of your birth, you are not eligible for "child of Japanese national" status. Maybe you can get "long-term resident", she needs to go ask immigration.
