Asthma prescription in Tokyo?

I have mild asthma and it normally doesn't affect my daily life too much but lately it's been acting up and bothering me quite a lot, so I'd like to get a prescription for some medication. (The inhaler I used before moving to Tokyo expired before I came to Japan)
Do I need to go to a specific clinic/specialist for this, or would any (English-speaking) hospital work?

You can't visit a large hospital without a referral (except in an emergency of course). Go to a 内科 clinic.

If you are looking for a doctor able to speak English you might try out Primary Care clinic in Shimokitazawa. He is a normal 内科 but half American. You can get an appointment over internet too.
