I'm currently living in South Africa. In my gap year I want to go and teach English in Japan, but I will only have TESL certificate and no degree. Will I still be able to find somewhere to teach, maybe highschool children?

If you are thinking of a work visa, you'd need either a bachelor's degree or three or more years' experience of teaching English. I don't know what nationality you are so am unable to say if you are eligible for Working Holiday Visa, possibly?
