hi me and my 2 companions will be going to tokyo this 1st week of november ....is nikko a good place to visit in a day? do we have a chance to see lots of autumn leaves there? aside from nikko what other place is great to see autumn leaves that we can do for a day being tokyo our base.

Hi lorna,
Yes Nikko's a great daytrip from Tokyo.
Unfortunately I think you're going to be a bit too early for the autumn colours though; the maples go red in late November / early December.
If you have JR passes, or the budget for individual tickets, you could go up to Tohoku on the shinkansen to see the foliage there.
