Guidance 2 week trip for 55 year old couple 2017/9/1 22:38
Hi,
We are visiting Japan for first time. Arriving at Tokyo Narita airport ,will be staying in Shinjuku area from 16-23 September 2017 . Osaka from 23-30 September. We would like to travel around by trains.

Please suggest us the best places to visit in both cities . Would it be right to get JR pass? It would be helpful to know which places we can use the pass too.

Thanks.

Are you departing out of Narita? Whether to buy JR Pass or not likely will depends on it. JR Pass is valid on JR trains (which includes Shinkansen and few JR buses) - but not on subways and non-JR trains.

Check the Destination Map on this site
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e623a.html
and click Tokyo and Osaka. For a first-time visitor, this is a very good list of sights to see and do. Pick ones that interest you, because you cannot do them all in 2 weeks.
