Tateyama in May

Hi,
I went to Tateyama in October a few years ago. I am thinking of going to Japan in May 2018 but not sure if Tateyama is worth a visit during that time. Is Murodo area still covered in snow by that time? Maybe mt Tate is not possible to hike by that time.
