Koya-san with a broken foot

I had already booked my trip to Koya-san including staying at a temple. And then 4 weeks ago I broke my foot, which has me travelling in an orthopedic boot. Should I still go? I'm thinking of all the walking (which I was looking forward to), etc.

Sorry to hear about your foot. Get well soon!
There isn't much more walking in Koyasan than, let's say in Kyoto. Assuming that you don't go for a hike and limit yourself in your explorations.
Koyasan in itself is a very nice experience and the best part is the stay in the temple. Maybe it even helps your healing process 😉
If your trip to Japan is long, you might want to look if you can rent a wheelchair in your home country. Just an idea. I obviously can't judge how much/well you can walk.
Enjoy your trip to Japan nevertheless!
