Social worker for babies?

Hello!
I'm pregnant in Japan for the first time and due in about a month.
Our hospital's midwife offered to introduce us to a social worker from the local kuyakusho to help care for the new baby for the first month, since both my parents and husband's parents are not in Japan to help.
Does anyone know what the social worker might do to help, how long they help for, if they're inside our house, and monthly costs?

I guess you can ask your local city hall for this information.
They can provide your with some information
