12 day Japan itinerary

Hi guys! Going back to Japan with my hubby next month for 12 days. Here's our itinerary, can you please check if doable?

Please take note that we're staying at a relative's place in Nagoya for 4 days. Will it be better to purchase Kintetsu Rail Pass to travel from Nagoya to Osaka, Kyoto and Nara?

We'll be using JR Pass for Days 5 to 11. Will it cover those trip from Nagoya to Tokyo, Hakodate, Hokkaido, Otaru and Fuji?

A lot of big cities, consider inserting a bit of countryside or nature into your itinerary. I had a great time in Chichibu and its temples, and I loved Kamikochi.

Please take note that we're staying at a relative's place in Nagoya for 4 days. Will it be better to purchase Kintetsu Rail Pass to travel from Nagoya to Osaka, Kyoto and Nara?

If I were you, I would buy Japan Rail Pass 14 days for this itinerary.

Kintetsu Rail Pass is 3600 yen which covers your trip from Nagoya to/from Nara and Kyoto, but if you use conventional trains it will take 4 hrs one way. If you take Limited Express the traveling time will be 3 hours each but you must add 1900 x 4 = 7600 yen. The sum is 11200 yen.

Japan Rail Pass 14 days costs 46390 yen which is 17280 yen more expensive than the 7 days version, but it will pay off for your travel twice to the Kansai region. Nagoya to Kyoto by fastest Hikari is 35 min and to Osaka it is 50+ min.

Unfortunately we cannot get 14 day JR pass due to budget. Kintetsu rail pass and 7day JR pass will be our option.
