Hakone Free pass round trip

Can I use the round trip Hakone Free pass to travel on Odakyu Railways from Shinjuku to Hakone Yumoto but return from Gotemba to Shinjuku? I will pay surcharge for for seat reservations on romance car.
Would really appreciate help as I couldn’t find any information on this route. Thanks in advance.

you can use Odakyu hakone highway pass from Gotemba to Shinjuku.
it is not included in hakone free pass but you can get around 50% discount.

I think you want take Asagiri Limited Express from Gotemba. Recently there was a related thread.

As I wrote Asagiri runs JR line from Gotemba to Matsuda which is not covered by the Hakone Free Pass issued by Odakyu railways. So I think you must pay for the JR section (from Gotemba to Matsuda).

The website says it is a round trip between two stations on the Odakyu lines with no stops allowed in between.

"You can only take one ride between your starting station and Odawara station of Odakyu line. There is no restriction for the stopover. If you want to stopover at the station between your starting station and Odawara, please ask out station staff."

My translation to English might be inaccurate, but Odakyu says there is no restriction for the stopover when using the Hakone Free Pass. You are not allowed to backtrack though. So I think it is OK to get Asagiri from Gotemba, and pay for the JR fare (500 yen) and the Limited Express fare (640 yen for Gotemba to Matsuda for JR and 690 yen for Matsuda to Shinjuku for Odakyu). The Hakone Free pass will cover the fare from Matsuda to Shinjuku.
