Paying National Health Insurance from the USA 2017/11/2 09:53
I had to abruptly leave Japan two weeks ago due to my mother's passing. My rent, utilities, and city taxes were all paid before I left. However, I was three months behind on national health insurance.

How do I pay my national health insurance while living back in the US?

My Japanese employer (who I no longer work for) said that given the circumstances, they would help get information for me, but it's been two weeks with no response.

I don't want to rely on my former employer who has no obligation to help me. I want to pay them ASAP. Any ideas?

You can pay from a bank account you have set in JP(direct deposit).

Tokyo Friend 48,
Do you mean the city can deduct my health insurance from my Japanese bank account?
I no longer have a Japanese bank account.
I was recommended to close it because I'm unsure how long I'll be in the USA.

Yes, your JP band account will automatically deduct insurance payment.
Why you didn't leave the national health insurance if you are unsure how long you are in US.
