Hello.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this.
I recently had a contract job for 10 months and in september it was decided that it would not renew. I was then unemployed for the month of October and most of November until I recently found a job and will start November 20th this year.
My question now is, am I still able to claim unemployment benefits from the 1 and a half months that I did not have a job since I paid the employment insurance while I was warking at x company?
Thank you

No. you can't. I think you have to have at least one year payment. also, there is non-payment term, it is 3 months for your case.

I'd just like to mention that accordig to a few sources online minimum working time is 6 months. https://www.angloinfo.com/how-to/japan/working/unemploymentI tried to call Shibuya Hellowork today, but no English speaker was available. I may go to give it a try anyway. But my problem is that my bank is Shinsei bank, and they do not issue bank books. Which is a requirement for hellowork. Does anyone know if this can be solved? Thanks for everyones help!

You need to have paid employment insurance at least 12 months in past 24 months. So, you are not qualified to be paid this time.
