Hi There,
I am planning a trip to Tokyo with my family (2 boys) to Tokyo but we are renting a car and wanna drive to Gifu. Can I have some help with the itinerary and recommended accommodation ? Thank you.

Welcome to Japan! If you want to rent a car,you can check the following page. It helps you a lot. https://www.nipponrentacar.co.jp/service/general.htmThe distance from Tokyo to Gifu is very far. So I recommend you go to Gifu by Shinkansen. If you go to Gifu by car, it will take more than 5 hours. but it depend on the season. You want to visit where in Gifu? I have been living in Nihonbashi, the center of Tokyo. So please not to hesitate any questions. Nihonbashi is one of the good places where you feel Japan.
