I plan to ski at Biwako valley on 3 jan 2018. My family stay at Osaka,if it close,would you please recommend othe ski place? Thank you in advance.

They plan to operate from 28 Dec, depending on the snow conditions, though.

You do have to expect huge crowds. 3 Jan is in Shogatsu-San-ganichi.
