Fukuoka area arrival day, festivals? 2017/12/12 03:45
Hi there.
I am deciding on arrival day in Fukuoka airport from 6th to 9th of May next year. Is there any particular festivals or interesting things in the Fukuoka area that would prompt me to arrive on the 6th instead of 9th? I guess the weather is not so much different.

Have you tried Googling, or looking at the festivals/calendar section of this website? Google will probably give you more results.

I guess there are some annually repeating events and people more knowledgeable about Fukuoka might be able to answer that. However in the net it seems still to early to get that information. But pages such as Jalan can give you a nice list.

Enjoy your trip to Japan!

The big festival there is Dontaku, but you'll be a bit too late for it.

There is also the Nihon Dowasai a ways of in Oita, but it looks like you'll miss that too. There are a lot around your time happening in Kyoto though.
Fukuoka still has a number of good places to see - and you might catch the best of the wisteria at the Kawachi Fujien in Kitakyushu.
