Hello fellow travelers!
Is it allowed to skateboard around Tokyo/Akihabara area? We leave for Tokyo next week and I saw my son packing his skateboard. I want to make sure itfs ok. Thanks in advance

Although, it may seem like the ultimate street skating city, skateboarding is frowned upon on the streets of Tokyo. Even if your are just riding a long, the police or security will stop you. Because of this, local skaters will generally skate the skate parks. The die hard street skaters will do there thing in the wee hours of the night, when the streets are less crowded and security is less prevalent.
