Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass 2018/1/7 14:10
Should I be getting the Takayama hokuriku area tourist pass. I think this pass can be used in the places I will be going. Am I correct? Here is my itinerary:

Day 1 arrive Nagoya

Day 2 morning sightseeing in Nagoya then head to Takayma in the afternoon

Day 3 Sightseeing in Takayama

Day 4 Sightseeing in Takayama

Day 5 Morning head to Shirakawago and stay there for one night

Day 6 Morning head to Kanazawa

Day 7 Sightseeing in Kanazawa, afternoon back to Nagoya

Day 8 Sidetrip to Kyoto or Nara

Day 9 Nagoya

Day 10 Return home

Thank you.

No for a couple of reasons. Pass is only valid for 5 days. And also doesn't cover travel between Kyoto and Nagoya.

hakata14 is correct.

See the map:

It would make sense if you do the Nagoya - Takayama - Shirakawago - Kanazawa - Kyoto within 5 days.

In any case, you would need to pay additional transport between Kyoto and Nagoya, since you seem to be flying out from Nagoya.

Chubu Centrair Airport is actually outside Nagoya City.
This pass is not valid for the transportation between Centrair and Nagoya.

This pass is not a flexible pass; its validity lasts for 5 consecutive days.
Used from Day 2, this pass expires when Day 6 ends.

Day 7 Sightseeing in Kanazawa, afternoon back to Nagoya
Day 8 Sidetrip to Kyoto or Nara

You seem to be underestimating the required time.
A route Kanazawa -- Nagoya -- Kyoto | Nara is roundabout.

You can take a direct Limited Express train from Kanazawa Station to Kyoto Station.
Heading to Takayama on Day 3, you can make this pass cover this leg from Kanazawa to Kyoto on Day 7.
The legs Kyoto -- Nara and Kyoto -- Nagoya remain uncovered.

You could stay last days in Kyoto, not Nagoya. It takes only an hour and half to go to airport, we just had more-less similar trip.
