Visit Shiretoko National Park

We will visit Sapporo and Hakodate. If we want to visit Shiretoko National Park, we better to leave from Sapporo or Hakodate? Where to stay is close to National Park? For general visit one day is it good enough? Any good suggestions as we are planning to visit there at early of November?

Please have a look at a map. Hokkaido is quite big and there are no Shinkansen beyond Shin Hakodate. Neither Sapporo nor Hakodate is anywhere close to Shiretoko National Park.

If you dint want to do hiking, yes, 1 day can be sufficient. I am not sure however how accessible it will be in November. There might be already snow.

Regarding accommodation, When I went in summer I did not find a lot of possibilities, but using typical webpages such as Airbnb or jalan will provide you with the information you need.

But check weather and access first!
