Can tourist use Nozomi Shinkansen?

Hi All
Ifm travelling to Japan in August for 21 days and was wondering if tourist can use the Nozomi Shinkansen. We have worked out that it will be cheaper to pay as we go instead of a JR Pass but was unsure if we can use the Nozomi.

Yes, use of Nozomi trains is not restricted by visa type, nationality, age and gender.

Some regional passes issued by some JR companies also allow the use of Nozomi and Mizuho services on the Shinkansen.

Anyone who pays the fare can ride Nozomi, but not with a JR Pass. JR Pass is not valid on shinkansen Nozomi and Mizuho.
