JR Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass

Hi, We are 2 people who will be based in Osaka for 5 days. Really looking forward to our first trip to Japan.

I am looking at the JR Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass because we would like to visit Kyoto, Hiroshima and Miyajima during our stay.

Some questions are:

1. Does the Y13500 ticket include unreserved Shinkansen seats?

2. Is it possible to pay extra for reserved seats and upgrade to green ticket after purchasing the pass?

3. Does this cover normail train from Osaka to Kyoto?

4. Does this cover any local buses and trains in Osaka?

1. Does the Y13500 ticket include unreserved Shinkansen seats?

2. Is it possible to pay extra for reserved seats and upgrade to green ticket after purchasing the pass?

Yes, but the additional cost will be very large, as your pass would cover only the base fare (Hyperdia calls it "Fare"), but not the limited express fee (Hyperdia confusingly calls it "Seat Fee") and Green Car fee.

3. Does this cover normail train from Osaka to Kyoto?

Yes. JR trains only.

4. Does this cover any local buses and trains in Osaka?
