Full bloom 2018 in Tokyo 2018/3/28 00:26
Now that all the best viewing locations in tokyo have reached their full bloom namely- chidorigafuchi, imperial palace, meguro river, shinjuku gyoen..will we still be able to see the trees in full bloom on 1-2nd april 2018?
How long do the trees stay in full bloom if there is no rain/snow?

The trees typically stay in "best viewing" for 7-10 days. The main factors for a shortened season are strong rain and strong wind. Currently, neither of them is forecast. This is truly the most pleasant hanami year I have ever experienced in terms of weather. I believe that continued hot weather can also have a slightly shortening effect on the season. But I feel you will still be able to see some nice blossoms on April 1. Probably towards the end of "best viewing" when the petal blizzards are in full swing, a stage of the season that many people find very enjoyable. In the worst case, it is only a short train ride to a park near central Tokyo that has still more flowers, such as Showa Kinen Koen.

The "season" at Shinjuku is six weeks (information from the park), and while it might not be the "peak" or a zillion trees, there will still be enough blossoms to keep many people haappy.

Ueno also has a selection of late blossom trees. It is pretty easy to search for locations in Tokyo that have late varieties.

Both of you, thanku so much for giving me positive vibes. I have been following japan weather association and japan metereological corp since months now but preponing our flights and accomodation was incurring alot of cost. We are planning to cover the parks first and then move to tokyo's more commercial part.

I got 22 hits with "Best Now" and "Tokyo" with WalkerPlus now on Mar 31.

With WeatherNews, I got 17 hits.

The followings are all extracts for central Tokyo and Showa Kinen Park for an addition. The upper in the listing, the later dates for Sakura blizzard. Thus, more promising. Click "Map" to locate the place exactly.

Where will you be coming from? 3rd April is in 2 days.. so cancelling your tickets if already booked will be expensive too.

Ifm booked to arrive in Tokyo on the night of 2nd April, and Ifm not fussed about the blossoms. If I get to see some great, if not itfs no big deal... Japan is much more than just blossoms. Itfs history, culture, food, anime and so much more.

You can go to parks like Shinjyuku Goen and you will see some blossoms. You can also do day trips to nearby places that are still blossoming if youfre that desperate. Organise a trip to Yoshino later in the week if you can, or Matsumoto.. check the blossom forecast for these and other areas.

Itfs really not the end of the world and enjoy whatever you decide to do.
