Estate agents.
Take a walk around the neighbourhood you want to live and look for the storefronts covered in floor plans for properties.

This sounds like "Where can I rent an apartment in (Your home country) for a long time" Much more information needed. How long? and will you be visiting, studying or working?

Sorry, it posted before I was done
As I was saying, the contracts are usually 2 years, and a lot of apartments are unfurnished. People who move out pretty much have to sell all the furniture they bought, or they would be fined by the landlord.
If you want shorter contracts and furnished apartments, use English websites. I found that they offer short term contracts and are usually furnished, but may or may not be slightly pricier depending on the area. Google 'cheap apartments Tokyo' or something similar if you haven't already.
