Hi,

I would be in Kushiro in April (17-20). I've tried searching for bus to lake akan but most of the sites are in Japanese. Can anyone help me with ways (via bus/jr) to get to lake akan from Kushiro during those days please.

The blue colored bus does not operate in April. It only operates from July to October.

Thanks uji! Can i check if what is the weather like in kushiro? We might drive instead. Is a four wheel drive necessary during late april? (20-26)

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, we have booked our hotels at kushiro and wont be staying at akan.

The average daytime high on April 20 in Kushiro is 8 degrees and the nighttime low is 1 degree There is usually no snow left. Around Lake Akan, however, the average nighttime low is -3 degrees and there is an average of 26 cm of snow left. This year at this moment, however, there is almost no snow left. Nevertheless, this time of the season still comes with a small risk of snow or ice.
