Where to stay in Osaka for 4 nights

My husband and I are staying in Osaka for 4 nights in October any suggestions as to where we should stay please. Our accommodation budget is approximately 17,000 YEN per night. We are foodies and wouldlike to be in the 'Heart of the City'.

I'm not sure if there is a clear cut 'heart of the city', as Osaka is big and has many 'hearts'. You probably want to go to Dotonbori area of Osaka for lively foodie scene. Shinsaibashi and Namba areas are within walking distance of Dotonbori, so they can be considered also.

Hi, I assume you are flying out from KIX. The best places to stay in Osaka with transportation in mind are: Namba/Shinsaibashi, then Osaka/Umeda and last is Tennoji.
