Which JR pass (7 or 14 day pass) is worth it? 2018/4/21 01:24
Hi,

I am trying to see which pass is worth it to get, the 7 or 14 day JR pass based on my tentative itinerary:

Day 1-4: Tokyo
Day 5-6: Kyoto
Day 6-7: Osaka & Kobe
Day 8-9: Hiroshima & Miyajima
Day 10-13: either Tagayama,Shirakawago & Kanazawa OR Fukuoka and Nagasaki
Day 14 : Kyoto
Day 15: Tokyo

Also, does it look too pack and rush? Any suggestions is welcome
Also, any good food to try at each of these places are welcome.

Thanks,
Vince

Seven day wont work cos you are away from Tokyo for more than seven days.

This website has a rail pass calculator that can tell you the answer. Or you can work it out yourself by adding up the trip costs.

As for your itinerary, why are you returning to Kyoto? It doesn't make a lot of sense. If you visit Kanazawa, you can take a shinkansen back to Tokyo; if you visit Kyushu (not recommend on such a short trip), you should consider flying back to Tokyo to save time.

The only thing I would recommend is more time in Tokyo - there is a lot to see there, and also several day trips around the area that are worthwhile.
